Veridas facial biometry engine is world #3 according to the NIST report
Last April 4, the annual evaluation developed by the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) presented the ranking of the best facial biometry engines in the world.
From among more than 100 participants and the only Spanish enterprise who submitted, Veridas facial recognition engine was ranked #3 in the Facial Recognition vendor test (FRVT) – wild “face” dataset, very close to #1 (0.01%) and #2 (0.09%) ranking position.
In this category, the algorithm analyzes images of faces obtained in non-collaborative mode. This includes real-world faces, where the light conditions are deficient, the user does not look directly at the camera and part of the face can be hidden by hair and hands.
In hostile conditions is where the best facial recognition algorithms stand out and demonstrate their abilities to perform in real situations. Being one of the best algorithms worldwide translates into high reliability and precision for its use in digital onboarding, surveillance and security applications.
Onboarding is just the beginning…
The accuracy and efficiency of Veridas facial recognition algorithms are constantly improving thanks to the deep learning of artificial neural networks. Veridas’ motto “Onboarding is just the beginning…” shows the company’s goal of developing the highest level technologies to be part of next-generation identity solutions.
Das-Face, #3 NIST facial recognition algorithm, is already validating millions of operations each year in top banking companies, insurance, car rental, and telecommunications. Das-face is implemented in Veridas’ complete solutions together with a document and voice leader technology for Onboarding, payment and anti-fraud technology, developed 100% by Veridas.
